Power of Attorney
Empowering those you trust...
Power-of-attorney is a document which empowers a person you trust to act on your behalf when you are unable to do so. There are two types of power-of-attorney available which are health and welfare and financial.
The health and welfare power-of-attorney deals with your care and medical requirements should you ever lose capacity, you will be able to provide instructions in advance however with respect to certain requests as to where you will live and what treatment you would like to receive if any.
The financial power-of-attorney allows someone you trust to deal with your assets and empowers them to act on our behalf in making investments on your behalf or if required sell your home.
It is important, to note that a power-of-attorney must be in place before you lose capacity and cannot be created if you are unable to give appropriate instructions stop it is therefore inperative that the document is created and registered with the office of the public guardian as soon as it is created.
